Coral Gables, FL — On Christmas eve, the 2015 Frost Band of the Hour marching band, color guard, and Hurricanettes danceline traveled to El Paso, TX to support the University of Miami Hurricanes football team against the Washington State Cougars football team in the 82nd edition of the Hyundai Sun Bowl. The game was televised nationally on CBS-TV on December 26th from the University of Texas El Paso.
Following a three-hour Christmas Day rehearsal on the field at Austin High School, UM’s Band of the Hour appeared in a lively “Battle of the Bands” performance against the Washington State Marching Band at the Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta held at the El Paso Convention Center.
Despite below freezing temperatures, rain, hail, and snow on game day, the Frost Band of the Hour never wavered in their commitment to performance and professionalism. The UM marching band presented a spirited seven minute pre-game show, their eight minute custom arranged “Rhianna” halftime show with flashing LED lights, in addition to hours of songs, drum cadences, and dances in the stands.
A big kudos to all the students, faculty and staff of the 2015 Frost Band of the Hour for another stellar season under the direction of Professor Jay C. Rees.
